As I begin to count my blessings,
it's hard to know
just where to start,
For so many things come to mind;
so many things are in
my heart.
For God has blessed me so richly,
giving me more than I need;
Yet, I seldom am really content,
for more and more I
plead
He gives me the air I breath,
the morning, noon and night,
To awaken so restful come morning
to a beautiful day of
light.
The beautiful flowers that bloom,
the birds so sweetly that sing;
It's so hard to comprehend,
but I know God made
everything.
Consider the lilies how they grow,
they toil not neither do they spin;
The rain falls on the just and unjust,
even sparrows on
Him depend.
I know God loves His children, a
ll of those who obey His will.
He gave His only begotten Son,
that I some day with Him
could live.
My home, raiment, sunshine and rain,
the air I breathe, the food I eat,
Everything I have belongs to Him.
Yes, He has made my
life complete;
"Love one another," He says in His word; t
his is just one of His
commands.
Forgiving, forgetting is a must,
if I ever reach the
heavenly land.
Must I go and empty-handed,
must I meet my Saviour so?
Will He be pleased if I never teach others,
or help
them the way to know?
For there is surely a day coming when
I'll be judged by the deeds I've
done.
Will He say, "Enter in my child; the crown of victory
you've won."?
Or will He say, "I never knew you,
depart from Me forever more,"
What I'd give for one more chance
to make preparations
for heaven's shore.
May I live each and every day
as it would be my very last,
To always be kind to others,
and correct any errors in
my past.
For I know that God is love,
and I know His word is true,
And this is the message He brings,
"Love Me as I loved
you."
Though I've never had much money,
I am indeed so richly blessed
To have my brothers and sisters in Christ,
and hope of
that haven of rest.
One who sticketh closer than a brother,
one on whom I can depend,
My Saviour tells me in His word,
that is what we call a
friend.
My family and loved ones I cherish;
many more blessings I count each
day.
May I teach, lead and guide them to live
for Thee each
day I pray.
Whatever it takes to keep me humble,
and may I ever praise my God above,
May I never forget His many blessings,
and for the
greatest one - His love.
If I could write down all my blessings,
the many each day You send,
No doubt I would never get done,
or when my counting
would end.
