Adam ate the forbidden fruit
And recognized his sin:
He tried to hide among the trees,
Lest God know where he'd been.
Cain refused to sacrifice
As the Lord had handed down:
For envy he his brother slew
And hid him in the ground.
Jacob’s sons, in a jealous rage,
Sold Joseph
(the favored one):
His coat they dipped in goat’s blood
To hide what they had done
David’s lust for Bathsheba, fair,
brought pain upon his soul:
He added wrongs onto the first,
In an attempt to hide the whole.
Ananias and Sapphira,
In the Church when it began,
For boastful pride toward others,
Concealed the price of land.
We, today, must live a life
That is free from secret sin,
Then God, in sight of all mankind,
Will welcome us as friends
We cannot hide from God,
No matter how we try:
He watches all we do or say,
As our life goes passing by.
