Let Down Your Net

Jesus has said, “Put out your boat
Away from the safety of shore
Launch out into the deep and dark,
At His word and nothing more.

Let down your net, and thus prepare
For a catch that’ll marvel the heart:
The Lord will help and guide your hand,
And strength He will, surely, impart.

“Fear not,” He’s said, “And venture out
To the souls lost in the deep.”
“You will,” He promised, “Be fishers of men.”
Cast your net and the lord will reap.

Lord, we’ve toiled throughout the night
And brought not one thing in,
But, at Your word, we’ll cast our net
And search for souls again.
