What's Right with America?

  • It is the most wonderful and the most glorious of all the nations that ever came up out of mankind.

  • Our freedoms, which we take for granted, are unknown anywhere else on earth.

  • We may change our address without government permission

  • We may worship or not worship without fear of harassment by any government agency.

  • America is the land of opportunity toward which the downtrodden of every nation longingly turn their eyes, hoping someday to be a citizen.

  • We are not told how to vote, where to live, what to believe, or educate our families.

  • We have seen the humblest among us rise to positions of honor and power in our government.

  • We are free – every one of us – to seek any office, aspire to any goal, and try to reach any respected achievement

  • We may not be denied any of our basic rights without just cause, and only after due process of law has been scrupulously observed.

  • We are even fed and clothed by our fellow-citizens, when through misfortune we cannot do this for ourselves.

  • We may possess multiple copies of the Bible without regard to bureaucratic permission or restraint.

  • We came to this land from all the nations of this world, and all of us are held to be equal before the law.

  • Do we have problems? Yes, but practically all are due to our lack of ability to avoid abusing our liberties and privileges.

  • In America, we can share the Gospel with our fellow Americans without fear of violence or arrest.

  • In America, even the poor will have their own car, a paying job, and a dwelling they don't have to share with another family.

We should thank God for America every day of our lives. Remember what the young man of the Lord said in Psalms 33:112 “Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord; and the people whom he hath chosen for his own inheritance.”

Far too often the question is asked, “What’s wrong with America.” We should think positively about this subject and thank God for this blessing
